But once it has hit a window where it has not moved like that in 4 weeks, it's on the chopping block. I know at my local library, they regularly monitor when the last time an item was checked out is, and thus they weed the shelves to make room for the new. Although I'm personally not an e-book lover, in cases like the library, I love the concept because it eliminates the need to EVER weed anything from a collection, which in many ways is how it SHOULD be. Just today I was thinking about a book I read over 30 years ago that impacted me and it's long out of print and not available at my library. How wonderful that would be to simply be able to call it up at any time with the press of a button like that. Future generations will benefit from that, no doubt.Robin Reulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09352903237363756598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634687758295347831.post-81397069715652071892012-09-25T17:52:26.533-07:002012-09-25T17:52:26.533-07:00Ouch -- I didn't know it was 90 days! I wonder how library "weeding" will be done with digital books.Linda Johnshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02068214968918560212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634687758295347831.post-84264153852374991792012-09-25T16:19:22.861-07:002012-09-25T16:19:22.861-07:00Can be a bit daunting. I'm sure the author would thank you for it ;)Carolina M. Valdez Schneiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11589934533051907801noreply@blogger.com
